It sounds like Dave Ragone could become Falcons new offensive coordinator – Chicago Bears Wire

As NFL teams begin to fill head coaching vacancies, new coaching staffs around the league are being formed. And there is certainly some interest from the current Bears coaching staff.

Not only is defensive line coach Jay Rodgers, who is an in-house candidate to replace Chuck Pagano, garnering interest as a defensive coordinator around the league, but it sounds like Bears passing game coordinator Dave Ragone could be promoted elsewhere.

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, there’s a good chance that Ragone could join new Atlanta Falcons head coach Arthur Smith’s staff, where Ragone would serve as offensive coordinator.

Ragone spent the last five seasons in Chicago, where he served as quarterbacks coach from 2016-19. Last year, he was promoted to passing game coordinator.

Smith and Ragone previously worked together in Tennessee from 2011-13, where Smith served as the Titans’ offensive line and tight end assistant coach and Ragone as the wide receivers coach (2011-12) and quarterbacks coach (2013).
